With each of these monthly roundups, we’re presenting them with the idea that somehow the new TV show spigot hasn’t closed itself yet. Shows have come from all different parts of the world, productions that have managed to run in the latter half of the last year have made their way through the post, and many unpublished and documentary projects have surfaced.

Now, as the Emmy eligibility window closes and the Northern Hemisphere turns its attention to potential summer activities, the new show hitting TV screens in June has another major theme: sports. With Olympic plans still in flux and the summer playoffs in full swing, the month is bringing a number of new series that are either based on the sport or featuring the athletes at their center.

Lest the overall balance be shaken too much, there are still a few mainstays to realize that nothing has changed in the world of TV: a Marvel series, a Stephen King adaptation, a historical epic, a couple family dramas. , and an acclaimed film based on a show.

(As always, if this collection isn’t enough to fill your viewing calendar, check out our roundups for February, March, and April and May.)
