The Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul exhibition match apparently crashed Showtime’s servers.
“We are aware that some customers are having trouble accessing tonight’s Pay Per View event on Showtime.com. We are working diligently to resolve this issue and will provide customers with appropriate redressal,” Showtime The spokesperson said in a statement at around 7:30 pm
People on Showtime’s official social media accounts said they had ordered a $50 pay-per-view fight, but were getting an error message that read “Server Error 502 Bad Gateway.” Most demanded refunds. Doctor Strange Among those disappointed was director Scott Derrickson.
“Looks like the @showtime tonight (very expensive) PPV was not ready for the traffic of the Logan Paul/Floyd Mayweather fight. So disappointed here, trying to watch this with my son,” Derrickson tweeted .
Showtime acknowledged there was a problem via several tweets.
“IMPORTANT NOTICE We are aware of an issue affecting your ability to access tonight’s PPV program through http://showtime.com and the Showtime app. For updates visit http://sho.com/ppv Updates will also be posted here. Please refresh your browser to see the updates,” the Showtime support page tweeted.
It then read: “IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are aware of an issue affecting tonight’s PPV event as well as the Showtime and Showtime Anytime apps. Updates will be posted here, so please visit your website to check out the latest updates. Refresh the browser.”
Showtime’s refund policy does not mention technical difficulties, only if an event is canceled. The message reads, “If the PPV event is canceled in its entirety, and you purchased the event through the Showtime app, you will automatically be refunded in full for the payment method that was used.” You did when you bought the event.” “It may take time for the refund to be credited to your account. The refund processing time may vary depending on your billing method.”
The much-anticipated exhibition fight between undefeated professional boxer Mayweather and YouTube personality Paul, YouTuber’s older brother and fighter Jake Paul, was taking place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
