When you think about your last doctor’s appointment, how much do you really remember? If you’re like most people, you’ll forget more than 40% of the conversation. Details fall through the cracks, generic printouts you receive end up in the trash, and important information never makes it to other doctors. Ultimately, you are left with the need to connect the dots in your care. So we started Abridge with a simple thesis: If we can bring agency to consumers, we can help them stay on top of their health. When you use Abridge to record your health conversations, the conversation itself becomes your medical record. It’s that easy.
About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (Android) to join the team building patient-oriented mobile apps. You will play an important role in our technology decisions and implementation, and you will see firsthand the impact we are having on healthcare. During this role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of open source libraries.
We value people who want to learn new things, and we know that great team members may not exactly match the job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure if you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.
place: remote. After the pandemic, remote team members may be asked to travel a few times each year for team events.
life in abridge
At Abridge, we are driven by our mission to bring understanding and follow-through to every medical conversation. Our culture is based in a legacy system of doing things the “reversed” way – focusing on the patients rather than the system; Focusing on results rather than billing; and focusing on the end user experience rather than the order of the hospital administrator.
Abridgers are engineers, scientists, designers and health policy experts who come from diverse backgrounds—an experiment in alchemy that helps us transform an EHR and enterprise-dominated industry into a consumer-driven experience, one recording at a time. is. We believe in strong ideas, are loose-fitting, and place a high premium on a growth mindset. We inspire each other to grow and keep each other informed of the latest in our respective fields. Whether it’s taking a PhD-level deep dive into understanding fairness and inherent bias in machine learning models, debating the merits of Scandinavian design philosophy in our UI/UX, or Medicare regulations to influence US health policy. We love to share our entire team’s findings and believe that “you have to taste good things to taste good.”
Ebridge is an equal opportunity employer. Diversity and inclusion are at the core of what we do. We actively welcome applicants from all backgrounds (including, but not limited to, race, gender, educational background, and sexual orientation).
